Chris Martindale

About

Chris Martindale is a Michigan State University Alumni and United States Navy veteran. He served with 1st Battalion 5th Marines as a Hospital Corpsman or “Doc” in Camp Pendleton, California. He deployed twice with one deployment to Nawa, Afghanistan in 2009. He discovered the life-changing power of yoga in 2015 as an alternative treatment for Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. He realized the benefits of yoga could potentially help other veterans and individuals throughout the community and decided to become an instructor. He completed his yoga teacher training at Yoga State in East Lansing in 2016 and is a 200-Hour Certified Yoga Instructor. He completed his 40-Hour Paddleboard Yoga Teacher Training and World Paddle Association Level 1 Instructor in 2017 through Sarah Tiefenthaler at YogAqua. He teaches at Michigan State University and local studios throughout the East Lansing and Lansing area. He is the Yoga Coordinator for Team Red, White, and Blue, Veteran Yoga Project Regional Director and founder of Spartan Yoga Project. He encourages all individuals to try the practice of yoga whether in the studio or on the water.
