Katrina Lashea, a local yoga studio co-founder/owner and yoga teacher is celebrating the 5-year anniversary of her studio, Anasa Yoga. Anasa Yoga, is a local neighborhood yoga studio located in Laurel District in Oakland, CA. She is a graduate of The Yoga Room’s, 3-year Advanced Studies Program at the 500-hour level emphasizing healthy alignment in yoga to develop body awareness, strength and flexibility, and the Yogaworks 200-hour Teacher Training with Maty Ezraty.

Katrina’s teaching style is influenced by Sandy Blaine, the Yoga Room faculty, and an array of teachers who have directly studied with BKS Iyengar-Mary Lou Weprin, Donald Moyer, Maty Ezraty, Michael Lucey and Marla Apt. She has taught yoga – at the GirlTrek #Stressprotest, Mills College, Civicorps Learning Academy, Alameda Health Systems, Kaiser Permanente Educational Theatre, Alameda Yoga Station, and Adeline Yoga. Along with teaching yoga, Katrina was a health and wellness teacher for Civicorps Learning Academy and a health counselor for UCSF’s Center for Community Health. She has been a featured in Yoga Journal, Gaiam and Oakland Magazine. She holds a Master’s in Management from the Lorry I. Lokey School of Business at Mills College with an emphasis in Social Impact and Innovation, and received her bachelor’s degree at U.C Berkeley in Dramatic Art-Dance, while also studying biology, physiology, and kinesiology.
